Actually no, it would've made sense to use him either now, or earlier in the 6th inning when it was tight then.

Eventually, unless Marmol went five innings, one of these guys would have had to pitch. And this would have happened anyway. Unless they find more relievers who can get people out, it doesn't matter when Marmol gets used.
