Reed's catch was ridiculous, but for my money it's Endy Chavez in the 2006 NLCS...wow

Given the importance of the moment, that catch was absolutely ridiculous.

I'm currently a sophomore at school, having lived with the same roommate for 2 years. He's from Queens, 1 stop fro Flushing, and has a poster of Endy mid-catch. Watching a clip of that catch leads to the conclusion that the only thing comparable is Kerry Wood's homer in game 7 of the '03 LCS...I've never heard a louder sound in person. But Endy was just off the charts amazing with that snow-cone.

I seem to remember Gary Mathews Junior making a pretty unbelievable catch a couple of days before he was claimed off of waivers by the Pirates. I think he slid to try to make the catch and it bounced out of his glove, then he tried to scoop it out of the air with his glove and wound up throwing it behind himself, then caught it with his bare hand behind his body.

I was at that game. Sammy hit three homers, and the Cubs of course lost to Colorado (14-7 I think). It was an awesome catch.

Gary Matthews Jr. and Miguel Cairo were both claimed after that game when the Cubs tried to sneak both through waivers. I always remembered that we could have kept either, and sent down Augie Ojeda who had options. But we knew that wasn't an option with Baylor around.

any play by play's with Kasper, haven't seen one yet?

The low-quality YouTube clip posted earlier in the thread is the Kasper/Brenly call. You can hear Bob mutter "Oh MY" as Len starts shouting.

Weren't Chip and Joe Morgan in the bleachers for that game as well?

How the hell do I remember that?!

You mean Joe Carter, right? Because I'm pretty sure Chip and Joe Morgan in the same booth would have caused some sort of apocalyptic event had it ever occurred.

Oh god that would have been horrendous.

I knew I called him Morgan. Yeah I mean Carter although they are both equally bad.

I believe Baseball Tonight last year had a feature where they presented the top all-time 3 web gems of all 30 teams. That play made the cut for the Cubs. I think it was no. 1.

Joe Morgan is about 1,000 times better as an announcer than Joe Carter was.
