Sorry, I meant more misses than hits.

My point was supposed to be that first round QBs are a crapshoot, no matter if they go No. 1 overall or No. 30

That pretty much goes for quarterbacks, period.

Yeah, but no one cares if you miss on a 3rd round QB from Popcorn State University. If you pick a QB in the top 10 picks and he bombs, you've set your entire franchise back a few years.

Next year's NFL draft might be moving and Downtown LA is amongst the locations trying to get the draft.

No....no way. It's NYC's thing and that's the way it should stay.

Why? What gives NYC exclusive rights? I think it'd be great to see some fans outside of the Giants and Jets hooting and hollering in the balcony.

Giants, Jets, Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles show up en masse. LA sucks and should not be in the discussion.

NY is close to multiple NFL teams, and the home to large chunks of several fan bases. They supported the draft long before it became popular.

That being said, it could be fun to see it in Chicago, where you'd get a fair amount of Bears, Packers, Vikings and possibly even Rams fans. DC, Philly, Boston could be decent locales as well.

It might be fun to do it beachside in Florida, where you'd get a spring break type atmosphere thrown in.

But LA should not be in the mix.

I don't have a problem with it being put in centralized locations so fans of multiple teams can attend. You could do it in Atlanta too, and get Falcons, Panthers, Dolphins, Bucs, and maybe Titans fans.

The West is tough because most of those teams fans are so far spread out. I imagine the LA idea is to offer an olive branch to the city since they still don't have a team yet. You'd still be able to get plenty of CA team fans there. Why should LA be excluded?

in LA you would get a huge mix of transplanted fans from every team. I dont know what difference it would make if it was in LA or Myrtle Beach

A huge mix of transplanted fans from every team is a positive in my book.

Of course LA will be in the mix. $$$$$

They will draw well and have a diverse fan base even if the closest NFL team is 100 miles away.

Myrtle Beach Metro population: 217,608

LA Metro population (not including 2 million San Diegans 100 miles away): 18 million

I doubt it. There's two things that bring people to the draft.

One, passion for the game, which is limited at best LA. Two, nothing else to do. It's mid-to-late April in NY and weather is hit or miss. Nobody is spending a day at the beach or doing much outdoors. To them, 8 hours inside makes some sense. Plus, it's the same people every year. People are not dying to go to the draft. Whenever I hear people bring it up, they say, "it would be cool to go." Then they think about it for 2 minutes and realize, "No, that would actually suck."

I buy the "nothing else to do" argument, but the lack of passionate fans relative to only LA is b.s.

I disagree, considering how die hard Raider fans are here. Plus, USC fans would draw well seeing as they'll have a half dozen of their players go day 1. LA fans are surprisingly passionate.

Yes, there's a lot to do in LA but there are also 18 million people here and you're trying to get, what, 50,000 to go? Won't be a problem.

Sure...because it's there every year! If it's only in your area for one year, it's a unique experience worth checking out.

No, because it's boring as hell and only weirdos go.

you cant drink there? I've never been, but I'm sure if alcohol is involved you would get plenty of takers no matter the locale

the NFL draft should not be in a city with no NFL team.

Yeah, this. And seriously, how many people go to the draft? It can't be that many, it's at Radio City Music Hall. I can't magine there's more than a couple thousand in there.

And also, it definitely shouldn't be in a city that DOESN'T HAVE A FREAKIN' TEAM BECAUSE NOBODY GOES TO THE GAMES.
