This is slowly turning into Julio Franco vs. Kyle Farnsworth Redux.

Alex Cora vs Matt Clement?

The Franco matchup stung a lot more, imo.

Besides, Z ended up plunking Cora quite effectively when he tried doing the same crap to him the next day. I think I laughed for a week after that.

That one stung more for me since I was at that game!

But the Z plunk was awesome.

It's things like this that make me love Z so much.

Well, that and when he's good and stuff.

We've had a ton of games that have looked like that in the first two weeks of the season.

Does anyone else get the feeling the bullpen is going to fade down the stretch at the rate things are going? All of these extra inning games can't be good for them.

Eh, this extra inning crap won't keep up.

At least this year we're winning them all thought (except opening day). Last year we were terrible for the longest time in Extra inning and/or one run games.

Looks like the cliff I want to push Soriano's blue Hummer over.

The Cubs have played enough innings in the state of Pennsylvania this week that they shouldn't have to come back this season.

So i've been meaning to ask...what is that 1-5 chart on the bottom about? It looks like a "scale of 1-5..how likely is roast to have a heart attack on this play." At least it corresponds to the game pretty well under that definition.

Meh, he still has an orange one - plus a white bentley. He'll do fine.

Nor do the < 5 inning starts by too many of the starting pitchers.

I am glad we won, but I have no desire to see any highlights or think or hear about this game anymore.

Onto the Masters.

Agree.

For me, however, it's on to seeing my best friend i haven't seen since X-mas! The train gets here at 5 o clock. Shweeeet.

Come on. That homer by DeRosa was clearly fair. You all need to get glasses. We deserved this win all the way! :yahoo:

Sorry to ressurect the topic again, but let me just say that this game today is textbook proof of why Kerry is not the longtern solution as closer. He often struggles against the first batter of the inning, he is way too inconsistent from day to day and is way too wild. Today he was all over the place, yet had luck and undisciplined Phillie hitters on his side(Bruntlett,Feliz, Ruiz). Think about it.....he could have lost this game in so many ways had the Phillie's not beat themselves.

Hmm, his 8th inning was pretty good.
