That's what happens when your first 2 batters of the game swing at the first pitch they see.

 

I predict lou gives it one more week and by next weekend theriot will be tucked away nicely in the 8 spot. soriano on the other hand will be hitting leadoff until 2014

 

I think Soriano may be out of the leadoff spot by sometime next year. He's going to be dropped well before his contract ends, and I'm talking about 5 or 6 eventually.

And I don't see why everyone just went off on Theriot for getting out quick when Soriano did the same thing. If Soriano would wake up our offense might actually start scoring some runs. Looks like Soriano just sucks the first month of each year. Not good when Lee does the same thing.

I seriously don't understand how Lou can think Theriot is better for the #2 spot than Derosa, Fukudome, Soto, anyone else on the roster.

 

He's speedy and gritty and that's what you need most in the 2 spot. It doesn't matter if you only get on base at a .330 clip.
