I was considering a Giants player for almost every position on offense.

 

i was going to say the same thing. that offense is truly atrocious. aside from rowand, i considered pretty much everyone. even durham would be a good option if he's as bad as last year.

 

to me, the $64,000 question is whether pierre will get enough playing time in LF to make him a bad enough option. he's almost certainly the worst player if he gets the chance. i think it all depends on if ethier or kemp struggle for a week or two; torre will go with the "proven veteran"

 

 

here's my very preliminary team. i did it at work last night, so there are still some more things i need to look at, especially for the pitchers.

Currently #314 with 123 ESPN. Jason Jennings has been very good to me; Jacque Jones getting released really hurt, since he was scoring very well. Putting The Riot on my team--not such a good move.

425th place. just like last year, pitching is killing me. daniel cabrera has figured out how to pitch apparently, and jose contreras has forgotten that he's 75 years old and not good. bourn and pena have been studs. jose castillo has been a big disappointment at third base. juan pierre needs (a) more playing time and (b) to start playing worse.

92nd place with a 166 espn! josh fogg (36) and jim edmonds (32) are my biggest contributors, but their lack of playing time may end up hurting me. brian giles (-3) is my biggest bust so far.

Major setback for my team: Jason Jennings underwent season-ending elbow surgery. It was the same surgery that ended his season last year.

i'm pretty happy to be in 363rd place, considering that my pitchers have a horrendous total of -62.

72nd place! Tadahito Iguchi (40) and Josh Fogg (51) are my biggest contributors, and everyone has a positive contribution on my team except for Brian Giles. Though Edmonds' number is going down, which is good for the Cubs but bad for my team.
