2003-present - Bad luck, Dusty Baker, mismanagement of available resources, slow-changing philosophies, more concern in building Cubs brand than team, poor scouting and development

6. What reasons can you give to explain why the Cubs haven't had a World Series win in 100 years? -- because they have been managed/GM'ed into the ground for the better portion of that time. In other times, when they have started in the right direction, they take the first failure and use it as an excuse to revert to their old, bad, non-winning practices. The Cubs need a sustained effort, in one solid, successful direction, over a period of years. Other teams follow this pattern all the time. We don't. And that's why.
