1. Can someone explain how to open more than one window for the VWR? Everytime I try to, it tells me to be patient and let them refresh the window I have open. Thanks in advance.
2.
3. I still can't believe Lee is batting third. What a joke. That's gotta be the worst 2-3 hitters in the playoffs. In history?
4. Way to go, Demp!!! Is there a website where I can hear Pat and Ron call the game? These guys are horrible.
5. I was just about to post that pic of Jakie May. I agree that it has to be him. He played for the Cubs from 1931-32.
6. I can't stand having to follow this on Gamecast.
7. Awesome, thanks for the heads-up!
8. Well, it made for a fun afternoon so far.
9. I'm sitting here in my office hitting refresh every ten seconds and switching back and forth between this and ESPN Gamecast. It's a good day to not have many patients in the afternoon.
10. According to that chart, in the last 10 days, Soto has a lower OBP than AVG. That's not possible, right?
11. I just bought that book a couple of days ago. I can't wait to read it, but I have to finish What Ever Happened to the Hall of Fame first.
12. Here's Babe's WWII draft card with the correct birthday: http://blogs.pcworld.com/staffblog/archives/Military_BabeRuthWW2DraftC.jpg Here's what happened apparently. Ruth didn't learn his correct birthdate until he applied for a passport in the 30's. Heck, Ruth apparently got the year wrong too on the first one. On his WWI draft card he lists his birthyear as 1894, whereas on the correct one it's 1895. That's pretty funny! By the way, thanks for all of the pics. I'm a baseball history fanatic and this is by far my favorite thread ever.
13. That's weird, because I've always seen Ruth's birthday listed as Feb. 6.
14. I hate having to follow a game on ESPN Gamecast. It was showing nobody on base when Fontenot was at bat. Now it shows Fontenot on 1st with DeRo on 3rd with Harden up.
15. The A's have always been my second favorite team, going back to "the Bash Brothers." If we had to lose Gallagher, I'm glad he went there.
16. Actually, I just saw the post with the ESPN article about his pitches. If this needs to be locked or merged than please do so.
17. I don't know if anyone has posted this article before but it says that Harden doesn't throw his splitter anymore because it's a little harder on his arm. Now it's just fastball and some kind of changeup. http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080630&content_id=3035848&vkey=news_oak&fext=.jsp&c_id=oak Here's another one from Hardball Times reviewing the Sabathia and Harden trades. It gets into Harden's two pitches as well. http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080630&content_id=3035848&vkey=news_oak&fext=.jsp&c_id=oak
18. If you're going to hit a weak grounder to third, at least try to beat the throw.
19. When you post, people listen. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/961223,CST-SPT-cubnt21.article
