bring back the stirrups!

Would those be those 80's style ones that Maddux still wears?

If so, I loathe them.

I maintain there's no ballplayer who doesn't look better in the high socks. Aramis provides further vindication for such a hypothesis; he looks badass.

Lee would look goofy.

Untrue. Lee rocked the high socks last season on Jackie Robinson Day and he too looked badass.

That is what I said earlier. Bring back the white sanitary socks and the stirrups. That is still the way to go!

You guys are out of your minds.

That dude is one of the most pathetic looking baseball players i have ever seen. The tinted glasses finish it all off for him.

Dude had a helluva career though.

While the high socks and rolled pants look 100x's better, I always hated how they felt. We had to wear those for most of my HS years, then went to the long pants my SR year. The long pants were way more comfortable.

he usually busts those out once a season.

It was best when Z busted them out once, last year I think.

Right after the "fight". Z was starting his season over, as he said, and the high socks were part of his transformation apparently.

At least thats how i recall it.

I always felt that pants rolled up was MORE comfortable. I guess it just goes to show personal preference.

Wow, I'm suprised this board embraces anything old school in baseball. I really couldn't give a crap, but I agree that Aramis does look kinda badass in that picture.

The line isn't drawn between new school and old school. It's between stupid/wrong and not-stupid/right.

I personally think there are some players who look straight up goofy in high pants. Lee and Floyd both looked silly on Jackie Robinson Day last year. Picturing Sammy in them? Ew.

That being said, most should wear them because it usually looks really sweet.
