Man...I don't want to get any sort of hope that Dempster and Lieber will be effective this year...but I can feel it rising.

 

 

There's no reason to think that Lieber won't be effective as a #5.

 

Yeah, but they'll both probably be about #5 quality, and having 2 of those makes it ineffective.

 

 

I think it's perfectly realistic to think that Lieber could put up #4 type numbers.

I <3 dempster. He seems like a guy i would love to watch a ballgame with. Now if he can top that off by pitching decent, things would be perfect. He's one of those guys who would be an EASY fan-favorite if he can pitch decently.

 

 

Granted, he pitched pretty well as a closer, but people blood pressure is always higher in the 9th and i think that's why people look at what he did in such negative extremes.
