I'd rather Dempster get hurt. At least you'll get a decent first half out of Marquis.

Hopefully, Dempster will get pounded so hard in ST that he won't even have to get hurt. That would be the best for all parties.

I can understand the dislike for Marquis, but the fact is that Marquis and Dempster are going to get their fare share of starts this year. Depth in the rotation is a great problem to have and the bottom line is Marquis and Dempster are going to help the Cubs get some wins this year. Do the Cubs make the playoffs last year if, say, Gallagher makes 33 starts? Maybe, maybe not.

Too bad the Cubs are only 3 deep in the rotation. After that, I wouldn't call a bunch of crap "depth." Luckily, most teams have a bunch of crap at the bottom of their rotations, too.

Oh, and to answer your question in a manner relevant to this year, I'd certainly take Gallagher in our rotation over Dempster and Lieber. Maybe not Marquis.

Reminds me back on espn.com when people would post a question asking for a stat that was easily found by clicking on the stats button just to the left of where they were posting. How do people obsessed enough with the Cubs not have knowledge of, and ready access to, their website, schedule, stats, etc?

Is that game going to be televised

I hope Marquis has a great spring, so that he can be a key component of the BRoberts trade. (Uh, am I in the wrong thread?)

February 28, 2:05 PM. He'll proclaim that Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air from Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, AZ, remind us that it's a Cactus League battle between the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants, introduce himself along with Cubs legend Ron Santo, and all will be right in the world.

Why should I click the links if I can get you to do it? :D

How awesome would it be if Dempster went out to pitch dressed as Captain America?

I've heard about this... but have never seen it. Does anyone have a picture of it? :)
