That article is one of them. A study showed that Jeter is the worst defensive SS in the majors, which is just a preposterous idea to many New Yorkers (not sure why. He may not be the worst, but he's not good)

A-Rod's contract was December 2000, Jeter then signed his extension (based on A-Rod's salary) in February 2001. Jeter had originally agreed to a lower deal a year earlier, which the Yankees backed out on when Juan Gone declined the Detroit contract.

 

 

Jeter is adequate defensively, but I don't beleive he is the worst. He will be shifting positions in the next two or three years.
