For the other 31 teams, here's the thread to list what's going on with your team and around the rest of the league.

McCarthy said that Favre will probably make his decision on coming back sometime next week.

Man, are the Raiders and Falcons that poorly run that you are leaving them out of the discussion?

FYI, there are 32 NFL teams.

Steve Spagnuolo will remain with the Giants as their defensive coordinator (may be old news for some, but I haven't seen it posted yet).

Also, I keep hearing the Titans may have some interest in trading for an elite receiver since there are some (Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Roy Williams) rumored to be available. I'd love either of them for Vince.

i don't know if "his heart is in new york city." it's probably more that snyder is a meddling moron, and he'd have no control over who his OC and DC would be since the skins already hired people at those positions.

True, I wonder, though, if perhaps Spagnuolo figures Tom Coughlin only has a couple years left and wants to take over the Giants?

It'd be a good opportunity for a first-time coach - a still relatively young, very good (I know you disagree :D ) QB, good young talent elsewhere. The Redskins, on the other hand, are much more of an unknown and don't have the young talent base the Giants do.

Living here in North Carolina, I cannot imagine the backlash the front office in Charlotte would get if they traded Steve Smith, he is the face of the franchise, and trading the face of the franchise is not a good idea for a GM and coach that are on the hot seat a little bit.

For my team (Atlanta), I really wish they would have waited to at least interview Spagnuolo. I am not sure what to make of their coaching hire (Mike Smith former Jags defensive coordinator), although I really like the hire of Thomas Dimitroff as GM, he was on of the scouts for the Patriots. I really hope they do not draft a QB in the first round, especially if it's Matt Ryan.

I will quit the Panthers if we trade Smith. You have no offense for an entire year, no running game whatsoever, so you're going to trade your receiver who had 1,000 yards while dealing with FOUR different quarterbacks and was the only good thing going on offense? Unless we get like three first-rounders for him, no thanks.

I can defintely see your point, but dont you think navy blue looks better on him ;)

It's actually just rumors I've seen on the internet and heard on the radio, not really anything substantial that Smith would be available. Don't go overboard.

It's most likely, in my opinion, that if we upgrade the receiving corps through a trade - it would be for Roy Williams. A first rounder, maybe a third and something else (possibly?) would likely pull him in and the Titans have the depth to make do without two to three picks this year.

Smith would actually be the receiver I'd want the least of the three. I'd like to see Vince get a big, possession receiver like Chad or Roy Williams.

I don't know much about Smith, but the Jag defense has been absolutely incredible for years. They've got immense talent, but they're very physical and I like their schemes quit a bit. Hiring Smith may not be a sexy move, but I think it may turn out to be very good.

What sucks is that the Jags just turned around and grabbed Greg Williams to replace him. They lost their DC to a HC position and probably still upgraded at the spot. :banghead:

The NFL Network is reporting that the Cowboys have placed the franchise tag on Flozell Adams.

ouch. is he worth it? he's getting up there in years isnt he??

That's probably why they franchised him. Flozell is coming off another pro-bowl season and is likely looking to make big money over 4-5 years. Good left tackles usually make pretty big dollars on the FA market. The Cowboys may be worried that Free or McQuistan aren't ready to step in and replace him. This way, while they'll have to pay him big bucks for one year, they aren't locked into a long-term commitment. I figured it could happen.

IC, makes sense. I guess I assumed they would look to sign him for more years

Mike Smith's awful, he runs too vanilla of a scheme. Their defense has been stellar the past several years, but that's mostly due to the talent of Henderson, Stroud, Darius, Peterson, etc. combined with a defensive-minded head coach. Williams is a significant upgrade. They're really right on the verge of being the 4th clear powerhouse in the AFC, or the whole league for that matter.

Interesting. They've certainly had a ton of talent on that defense, but I just kind of assumed Smith had at least a part of their success.

You would know better than me, though.

I'm still pretty surprised Atlanta didn't go with Singletary. Rumor was, Arthur Blank really liked him before he hired Petrino, and then was high on him after his interview this offseason.

Seems like Singletary would have been a much better choice.

I would have liked the Ravens D cooardinator, Rex Ryan or Singletary more. But, I really wish they would have waited to at least interview Spagnuolo.

On a side note, do we have enough people for the mock draft on here.

FWIW, I watched some of the senior bowl practice on NFL Network, and Singletary can really coach. He was working with the LBs, but you can tell guys just listen to what he tells them. I know a lot has to do with his on the field play, but even if he never played he has a presence.

Yeah, Ryan would have been a solid choice too. I really like Singletary, though. Like raw said, he can really coach.

And there are 8 teams left to take in the mock draft - plus anyone who wants to join a war room. I just bumped it to the first page.

The Raiders resigned Justin Fargas for 3 years today. Hopefully this can end all of the talk of the Raiders drafting McFadden.
