Untrue jersey. I have in the past wrote that what i don't like about Prior is when he is getting hit, he fads away mentally.

that's just a ridiculous statement.

Sorry we can't put a number on it so you could understand it.

well, sure, when you just pull stuff out of your ass, it's hard to put a number on it.

Wouldn't that be number 2?

What if you adjust for league and park factors?

You are as bad as Joe Morgan. You only accept once thing just as he does and it's pretty funny when you think about it. I'd pull the I do this for a living card but I'm sure you'd cry about that and ask me for a number to prove that as well. I'd hate to be as narrow minded and self righteous as you are.

hey, you know what...you convinced me. in an effort to be more open-minded i'm just going to blindly accept your psycho-analysis of a player you've never met based on watching him pitch on tv a few times.

WAY BETTER THAN STATS.

I could not have put it any better myself.

Again, I use both but as I said, you're narrow minded and just see one thing. Honestly, I could care less what you think.

i'm glad i've decided to adopt your analysis of prior because these "stats" would have just led me astray.

baa with runners on in 2004: .213 (.275 with bases empty)

baa with runners on in 2005: .207 (.241 with bases empty).

thankfully i've been set straight.

You don't think it's a bit misguided to evaluate a person's psyche based on seeing him on TV a few times?

I don't care what those numbers say. Prior's a mentally weak sissy-boy who can't take pressure. He should've given up a cleaner double play ball when he was in that jam in game 6. A real man would've.

i'm pretty sure saying that someone is "as bad as Joe Morgan" is a personal attack. maybe you should practice what you preach, eh?

I'd bet he winds up in San Diego. And if I were Jim Hendry, I'd look into filing a tampering complaint with the league.

Perhaps. I've done this type of thing for over 29 years and it's part of being a coach. Could I be wrong, certainly. But, I still feel my initial insight to be correct.

By the way, what do you consider a few times?

Yes, I would too. But if found guilty what would the Cubs get back 50k? Peanuts.

Seriously, how can you possibly believe that thinking you see Prior fade away mentally when he is being hit can outweigh the facts that Prior has done fairly well when he gets into situations when guys get on?

Show me your numbers after he gives up 4 or more runs...his line drive % numbers.

Not worth it. They have been a trading partner muiltiple times recently; wouldn't want to ruin that relationship.

Do you not see how ridiculous that request is?

If a guy gives up 4 runs, he's having a bad game. If he's having a bad game, he probably doesn't have his best stuff, and when he doesn't have his best stuff, he's going to get hit more. Do you think all those times that Roger Clemens got absolutely rocked, and it's happened quite a few times over the years, it was because he was a mental midget? Is there a single pitcher in the game who hasn't had bad games where they give up lots of hits and 4+ runs?

He'll pitch for the NYY and become a "true" Yankee, helping them to win multiple World Series titles and Cub fans will then spite him for taking money and leaving.
