From BP's PECOTA projection:

.289/.401/.504

.303 EQA

in 465 PA - 15HR, 29.2 VORP, 4.4 WARP

Also,

PECOTA very much likes Geovany Soto and Felix Pie, by the way, and is reasonably warm on Ronny Cedeno. If the Cubs let these kids play — perhaps integrating Ryan Theriot and Matt Murton in platoons of various kinds — this could quite easily be the best lineup in the National League.

I think that (OBP) will be wrong because imo the pitchers will challenge him this year and not nibble as much. My bet is 280/355. Once he learns the pitchers I think it'll go up unless they find a hole.

I don't know if its just me, but Fukudome reminds me a lot of Bobby Abreu. Just in the type of player and what skills he brings to the team.

Good call, Keith Law also mentioned Abreu as a comparable offensive player in his insider comments. I like it!

Shandler projects him at a .796 OPS in a neutral setting so the opinions vary quite a bit. I think Shandler is probably a bit low but BP is way too high, Hideki Matsui's rookie year was a .798 OPS and I think he was a better player than Fuku offensively. Maybe Fuku adapts faster but even then I don't see those BP stats.

if he posts a 798 obp it's going to be because he started the season 13-15 or something (whatever the smallest number of PAs you can have to get a 798 obp) before being attacked by killer bees

as long as he's Philly-pre-HR-Derby Abreu and not Yankee-post-trade-deadline Abreu

2006 pre-trade: .277/.427/.434/.861

2006 post-trade: .330/.419/.507/.926

2007: .283/.369/.445/.814

I'd be happy with even the 2007 line. Obviously I'd like it to be better but any OPS of .800+ I'd be satisfied with.
