The problem is Coach K always sticks to a 7 man rotation for the whole season except for the first couple of games. So, some of the McDonald's All Americans don't play, then when the players are tired and hurt in March, the other players' confidence is shot, and they play scared to make a mistake.

Having said that, This team could go 11 deep without much trouble, and if we do play all 11 of them reguarly, we should be pretty good, because we will go back to pressing full court and running the fast break, as opposed to running half court sets, in which we could not do anything in last year, after Redick left, because the players were used to sitting back and letting JJ do the work.

I do not know much about Illinois but if you have a dominant big man ,you could give us trouble. Our PF and C are both 6-9 and pretty skinny. We have a 7 footer in Zoubek but he is always in foul trouble (He literally had 7 fouls in the Blue-White game), and even when he plays is not that effective.

Pruitt is our big man, and so far this year, hes looked very good. Hes got talent. Our D is really really good too. Hopefully Weber sticks with Dmac and Frazier, and leaves Meachem on the bench.

MJ sure did look awesome in that orange polo, though.

He sure did. I made the picture from Chicagosports.com my desktop background as soon as I saw it. It must be exciting for the players to have him in attendance on occasion.

I was impressed by the Illini last night, and if that game was any indication, they should be able to hang with the top of the Big Ten this season. It was ASU, though, so I want to see how we fare against Duke and, hopefully, Marquette.

i'd like to see tisdale play about as much as he did last night, and what i saw of cole i really liked. randle looked like a man among boys, but he's still going to have to shoot the ball to be effective against upper-echelon talent.

dmac shot well, chester shot well, i was moderately impressed with alexander, brock has even shown flashes. pruitt is just a beast down low, and they rebound excellently as team, they're so athletic, they just toyed with those kids from asu in the paint.

Eric Gordon just jumped over someone, literally, on his way to the rim for a tremendous dunk.

23 points far tonight. 7-11 shooting.

i don't know who that is.

hehe...

yes you do.

Northwestern's new look Princeton offense is out in full force tonight as the Wildcats lead Benedictine 52-30...at the half. Michael Thompson is having an immediate impact running this offense and Craig Moore one year absence may be over. I can't wait for Coble to come back. Hopefully his mom is doing well enough for him to return by the start of the Big Ten season.

Perhaps the days of playing down to the opponent's level are over...

In a bustling hotel lobby, Deron Williams acted as though he knew the question was coming: What are your thoughts on the [segment missing] situation? "I don't know who that is" Williams said bluntly. The former Illini star wasn't smiling. He didn't flinch but glared straight ahead. And he waited for the next topic.

One of the most impressive things about Gordon is his ability to get to the free throw line. So far tonight he is 10-11 from the line.

30 points...again.

Williams will know who he is real soon.

that's fine by me, without [segment missing], sampson won't have an insurance policy. the sooner that happens, the better.

i guess northwestern might be better than they've been recently, but you might want to hold off on the optimism until they beat a team that anybody has heard of

Well, true, there isn't another Gordon (whoops, I mean "segment missing") but Devin Ebanks won't be so bad either.

ebanks is a far, far cry from....

i don't normally wish evil to befall people, but i hope some people get hurt and never walk again.

All because he changed his mind on Illinois? How many times did you change your mind as an 18 year old?

Meanwhile there are two individuals in Illinois' program who are lucky they are still able to walk. That "decison" was worse than Gordon ever made.

i keep telling you, i don't know who that is.

even if i did, right or wrong makes no difference to me on this issue. i don't care what the rules say, i don't care what the whole state of indiana says, i'm going to hold a huge grudge and you would, too--regardless of how old a kid is.

I'm not sure anybody knows how good Ebanks is. All we know is that Gordon was ranked around #3 and Ebanks is ranked around #12, so while Gordon is better Ebanks is also supposed to be a prolific scorer.

I echo Bruno's sentiment that I hope Illinois destroys Duke. In fact, I hope Illinois does great in the non-conference part of their schedule. It only helps the conference to have its teams do well.

Well, I'm 19 and I don't change my mind much.

Grudges are fine, but my point about stupid decisions still stands.
