ND 82, Long Island 50. Rob Kurz 19 points, 10 rebounds. Tory Jackson and Kyle McAlarney get 8 and 7 assists respectively and Luke Harangody adds 15 and 6.

This season's gonna be fun.

anything the basketball team does will be fun after the ass-pounding the football team has taken all year.

This coming from a Penn State basketball fan? Talk about butt pounding year after year.

hey i'm a holy cross fan

I know...I was just busting you a bit. How's Ralph looking this year?

well we graduated our two best players last year, maybe the two best players in the league. But bucknell graduated two important guys as well, and they've lost 3 players to injury already. We were picked to win the league again this year, but that probably has as much to do with us winning 4 of the last 6 years as it does the level of talent on this team. I think we have pretty good potential, but the league is a lot more wide-open than last year (when the only PL games that HC and Bucknell lost were at each other's home courts)

St. Joe's/Syracuse has been unexpectedly entertaining so far...mostly in part due to Syracuse periodically losing focus.

Seriously, I think Donte Greene has been playing parts of this game from a rocking chair. The guy needs a kick in the rear, it seems.

Flames win by somewhere around 30 points, when the walk ons who didn't even get names on there jerseys (when the rest of the team does) came in the lead took a bit of a hit, but still a good win heading to the Virgin Islands.

Screw you, ESPN. I don't want to see Ball State vs. Toledo in football. At least put the UCLA game on an alternate ESPN station if you're going to keep airing the football game.

Has anyone been to Depaul games at Allstate Arena? Can you park in the Target literally right next to it?

only times i've been was as a student and we got bused out there. i can't imagine Target is patrolling the lot for non-customers, but don't take my word for it. do they charge to park at Allstate?

I can't see why they wouldn't if the Arena is like all the other arenas in the country.

They charge...and they charge a lot. I think it's $11. If you're a student, you can get a parking pass for $5 I think. They do have buses that run from Lincoln Park for the students, if you're young enough to look like a student, you can jump on one of those.

Parking at Target is buyer beware. They have been known to tow from there if they specifically see you leave the premises, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's not like the Dunkin Donuts at Clark & Belmont where there is a spy there with a boot on your tire within 5 seconds of you leaving the premises. Then again, 1 towing can cost you parking fees for the entire season...

UCLA beats Cal State San Bernardino 76-41 and will advance to the next round of the CBE to face Maryland. Hopefully Collison will be ready by then, if not, I expect Westbrook to be shaky at the point again (and Mbah a Moute and Shipp will have to step up their PG duties).

Bite your tounge. :P

I do agree that they should start a game on an alternate channel when a previous game runs late. That should be standard anytime they have back-to-back games. The possibility of a game running late is totally foreseeable; they should plan accordingly.

Greene disappears at times and drifts and that bugs me but I think Boeheim will get him going. It was a good win over a tough team and I'm pretty happy about it. These young guys are going to have their ups and downs but they are going to be quite entertaining. I just wish Boeheim would play other players more to rest some of these guys, that's always been my biggest beef with him.

penn state is getting an early comittment from some 6'8" swingman from NJ today

i'm sure he's awesome

lead his high school to the NJ state title and a 32-2 record. Averaged 4 blocks per game and had 10 blocks in the championship game. that said, he's hardly Mr. Basketball for NJ or anything

well according to rivals.com, penn state stole him away from some big offers by the patriot and ivy league

in recruiting news that actually matters, penn state got a commit from a texas safety/cornerback who was also offered by oklahoma, USC, florida and ohio state. they only have him as 3 stars but given the teams that were recruiting him, he might be pretty good.
