Screamin' A thinks Dusty should manage the Yankees next year.

 

NY would eat him alive.

 

dusty seems like such a great idea until you actually watch him in action.

 

The funny thing is, he could easily win a World Series with that team, considering the talent makes it a near lock to win 95 games in the regular season. Plus, all their best players are incumbent veterans, and in the AL, he might be convinced not to sac bunt and play small ball nearly as much. Dusty isnt' going to be able to turn them into free swinging hacks. He won't be able to double switch his best hitters out of the lineup. He'll get hammered by his bullpen usage, but if Cashman went out and got him some stable starters, he'd probably ride them all the way to Mo.

 

He'd also have Chamberlain and Kennedy on the DL by the all star break.

I'm pretty sure he's shocked nobody is clamoring for his services right now. He probably thought he could have had any job he wanted last year. I think he'd take anything at this point.

Dusty is def. a better fit for the Yankees rather than the Reds. Hopefully Bruce gets off to a hot start for them.

oh man, hahahahaha. i feel sorry for my friends but i also can't wait to make fun of them.

 

the thing is, the reds have a good offense, and they're probably 1 good starting pitcher away from being a possible nl central contended. hopefully dusty leads them to the playoffs his first year and then cripples the franchise for the next 5.

This press conference announcing Dusty is hilarious... so much spinning going on. The main reasons the GM and President are giving for hiring Dusty is he's a "nice guy" and their people who have been in baseball think he's a really nice guy.

 

Dusty said he talked to Joe Morgan before deciding to come to Cincy. Dusty's also said he can get "players' to Cincinnati and how they "need some parts". He said players were already calling him trying to come to Cincy (Nefi?).

 

Someone finally nailed him with the "young pitchers" question and he danced around it, said he wasn't going to defend himself and said "look at my whole record".
