GEOVANY SOTO!!!!

the thing I love about Soto is the idea the Cubs have FINALLY produced a legit pos player

my fear is they will trade him cuz Kendall is such a "professional"

He was definitely a legit pro player this year and I'm definitely optimistic... but he did only play like 20 games.

I think Soto is the real deal.

I can't remember the last time the Cubs had a catcher who was good offensively and defensively.

Me too. But then again, I thought Corey Patterson, Matt Murton, Ryan Theriot, Mike Fontenot, Felix Pie, and Angel Pagan were the real deal, so what do I know.

I get everyone on that list but Pagan don't know what you were smoking to think he was legit.

Hey bro, I hear ya. This series loss was disappointing don't get me wrong, but it doesn't compare to how I disappointed I was in 2003. We are a mediocre team in a bad division that got beat by a good team in a solid division. A DBacks Rockies championship series will be really lame, but our team just isn't ready yet. As others have pointed out, we've had strong contributions from rookies, and Wood, as much as some of us are over him, that guy was bringing it all series. Has any pitcher ever been able to hit the upper 90's regularly after shoulder surgery? Game two was a really disappointing loss, so tonight wasn't all that bad. After how September went and how this division panned out, I can't help but be extremely excited about what Soto and Marmol will bring to the team next year. Keep the faith guys!

On the bright side, getting our hearts ripped out today saves us the torture of staying up well past midnight Tuesday night to get our hearts ripped out in game 5 instead.

 I don't buy into this at all. I would have gave anything to get to a game 5. In a game 5 anything could happen. Sure Webb is good but this same crap offense beat him already once this year.

If he hits like Wilkins did in '93, Soto can play defense like LeCroy behind the plate.

We'll see what happens to Soto once the league develops a good scouting report on him...

Sorry to be a downer, but there hasn't been enough time to fully know if Soto will continue his hitting pace or not. I remember when guys like Ronny Cedeno were going to be solid hitters as well. Didn't work out that way.
