Good nite. That's enough for me.

When this team left for Florida last week they were basking in glory after sweeping a lifeless Pirate team. Then they laid an egg in Miami & lucked out when the Brewers caved in for a few nights.

If they think everything is fine & daddy with the fans at home because they made the playoffs, they will be in for a rude awakening this weekend. It's looking like a sweep & the natives will definitely be restless.

I dont blame the Cubs. If I was making that much money to do that bad at my job, Id want to go home and spend it as soon as possible too.

Can you stop it?

and the flyers blow their two-goal lead, YES. Too bad the Eagles are off this week, maybe donovan mcnabb and brian westbrook can suffer season-ending injuries in a boating accident.

donovan is behind the ari. dugout, i guess you should hope for a foul ball off the right arm. the cubs lefties should be tardy enough to provide ample opportunities.

This is a serious question.

Does this team really give a crap?

They were happy to win the division. This is not a championship team folks. Who are we kidding. Hell. the NL team is going to get absolutely smoked this year.

lee came in sporting a sweet .289 career postseason SLG.

Most of which is propped up by 2 doubles coming against the Cubs in 2003.

i don't believe in clutch, but i believe in choking. and lee looks terrified out there. it's pathetic.

I'm with you on that, don't believe players improve and are clutch but I believe hitters can play considerably worse in tense situations.

“I think he performs well in any situation,” said Scioscia. “So, as far as being a clutch hitter late in the game, you’re not going to see many guys better than David. I don’t think it’s a matter of stepping up. I think it’s a matter of maintaining your game and not trying to do too much; not taking yourself out of what you do well. And he does it as well as anybody.”

Yay Mike. He also advertises for the best big screen TVs in LA and Orange County.

Did you guys get Lou's Aquafina commercial earlier in the game, or was that a local ad? It was hilarious.

Yeah.

seriously, start ward at 1b saturday. lee is not cut out for this type of game, apparently.

Yes, apparently. Not like he ever played in any pressure filled games down the stretch this season. Or, for example, when he was on the team that won the World Series in '03.

Yes

No, they really don't. They go home and enjoy their luxurious lifestlyes. We the fans suffer because.... because... because... I don't know why...

yeah that's why the red sox and yankees always go out early in the playoffs

And if I hear one more time how the players don't think about Bartman, and curses, and fan expectations, and 99 years and Leon Durham and goats and on and on, I am going to scream. The amount of pressure each of these players must feel every single inning must be immense. So stop saying you don't think about it! It's obvious you do!

He's been awful throughout his postseason career (granted, it only spans 2003 and this season).

Or maybe they just suck at baseball.

He batted .209 but had some huge hits. Especially against us.

he hit .188 that series against the cubs. over the course of 76+ postseason ab's, he's hitting like .210 with a SLG under .300.
