My college team used to do it all the time when we had a lead late.

 

Its fairly common in baseball.

But attempt to rationally explain how that has anything to do with counting down outs in a game between St. Louis and Milwaukee in 2007?

Brewers have (almost) officially choked much harder than us tonight.

 

At least we lost on the road to a bad team with a good offense with our crappiest (well, second crappiest when you count Trax) pitcher.

 

They're about to lose at home to what amounts to a far worse team right now... And get blown out.

 

The Brewers also won the first two games of the series and won the series. The Cubs have already lost the series with a chance to get swept tomorrow.

 

Advantage: Cubs.

Agreed. Brewers came into this series unable to accept 2 of 3. They're also unable to accept 2 of 4 from SD, but it's (hopefully!!) going to happen too.

Despite the huge sample size of the last two days, I really don't think the Cubs are that bad of a playoff team. I think they're significantly better than their record, considering their terrible record in extra innings and their terrible first two months.

 

For 4/6 months we've played like one of the best teams in baseball (sort of like the 03 Marlins), especially when you consider the injuries we've dealt with to a few of our key players.

 

I honestly think the Cubs might be the best team going into the NL playoffs, especially with the showing the Mets have put on lately and the fact that the Diamondbacks are nowhere near as good as their record. Call me crazy.

 

Maybe this is a little too serious of a post for this thread right now...
