Since all the Brewer fan think the Cubs are the luckiest team to play baseball, lets list the breaks they've had

-Faced 3 scrub rookies in Houston, missed Oswalt

-Facing scrubs Cards lineups with less than 100% Pujols

-Will face Padres who will be without Cameron or Bradley

-play last 7 games at home

-Cubs face Harang/Arroyo twice in the last month

I know there are more...

-face the Marlins and Reds in the final 6 games of the season.

-Have 2 more pitchers with ERAs over 5 the next 2 games.

-face a Reds lineup in the last series without Griffey and Dunn

-have a magic number of 4

Oh wait, thats the Cubs. Stop whining and let the Cubs win this thing, and let those rat bastards get their cheesehead hopes up.

Facing the Marlins and Reds isn't a lucky break, because we play them no matter what. It really doesn't matter when we play them. How is having a magic number of 4 a lucky break?

Sure it's luck. The schedules all about luck. As for the magic number, we have it because the Brewers, up by 8.5 games imploded, and the Cubs werent playing all that well themselves, aside from that June/July hot streak, so thats luck too. Its a different kind of luck, but luck none the less.

Are you kidding me with this thread? Why does this matter at all? Every team gets breaks during the year. The Cubs have gotten breaks over the year. Stop making excuses. We still have a 2 game lead, and if for some reason we blow it the Cubs only have themselves to blame, not the breaks that the freakin Brewers are getting.

Pointless thread. One or two guys are going all sour grapes about the fact that their team has choked up to this point. No need to stoop to their level, all teams get breaks.

I'm sure most Brewer fans realize how fortunate they were in the first two months of the season that they were doing that well and the Cubs were underachieving so significantly.

Agreed. The talk over here about Brewer fans making excuses is the result of about two posts in the last week in their other games threads, and both from the same poster. There was a big long one from Friday or so that was quoted in its entirety over here and got a lot of responses from us. I went over there and found that post, and here are the three posts which followed:

Hey give the cubs credit they go out an win aganist bad ball clubs where the brewers lose to back to back minor league pitchers. and let not forget the brewers road record wich is anpther reason why the Cubs will walk away this division by Tues.
And do to the Brewers inadequacy of being able to beat bad teams BrewCrewin. Be Realistic when we started off hot we won multiple games by 1 run. The cubs have just merely played a little better than they possibly can and breaks go both ways. I believe to start that rally for houston when dempster got the GIDP to end the game. The Astros lead off hit hit the base and flew over Derek Lee's head. Is that a break for the cubs? Otherwise the Astros get a triple 1 out then the ground out and the dp isn't even needed... see my point the cubs have stepped up lately and the brewers have merely blown games against bad pitchers of late causing us to be down 2 games right now and with Hudson on the mound it'll probably be 2.5 after tonight.
This win hurts, will the Cubs ever decide to come back to earth or are they at earth and they just broke out of there funk of playing bad? Either way Im worried.

The only other post in the thread was expressing the hatred for Aramis Ramirez that all Brewers fans are supposed to have. In perusing more Other Games threads from the last week (I didn't check the one from last night because I have no interest in their excitement over the Cubs losing), all I found were game updates and people pissed about the Cubs winning and hitting so many HR. These two quotes were the only other ones I found worth pointing out:

Well, this schedule has been in place since last year and we knew it...it's the Brewers' own fault that we now need to rely on the Pirates, Reds and Marlins while we end up with the Braves, Cards and Padres. It's not like the Cubs didn't play those teams earlier this year.

That said, come on tomorrow Pirates...you've been just the slightest of teases this weekend, now your pitching needs to man up.

I love how you guys keep bashing the cubs. Thats a sign that you feel it slipping.

Our reaction to one poster and generalizing him as the viewpoint of all Brewer fans on that board has inspired one of ours to go trolling over there, yet the rest of the community seems to have their heads on straight. I'm not sure why people are so eager to paint brewerfan.net as a bunch of sore losers spouting sour grapes all over the place, but as a whole, that group seems to get it.

Pointless thread.

Ned did a fine job of getting himself tossed and getting McClung tossed as well in the heat of a pennant race.

Of all of his bad decisions this year, tonight might be the worst one he's made yet. Throwing at guys when you are down by a run late in a game?

Wow!

But hey, revenging Prince's honor was of utmost importance.

Wisconsin will never be home to me, but I do appreciate the beer, sausage and cheese.
