i think illinois pushes yet another team all over the field this week. their lines look pretty studly, even without mccray, brent, and tez--who will anchor the future line for years to come.

and i would absolutely love to see mcgee get some more snaps.

i think the illini win by ten.

Illinois is not going to push PSU all over the field. Our defense is too fast and too strong. For all the Mike Hart praise during the game last weekend (seriously if Nessler and Griese wanted to ask him out, couldn't they have just done it after the game?), he only averaged 3.5 yards per carry. I'm not sure who is going to win yet - it probably depends on whether Morelli plays like crap or not - but I'd be very surprised if Illinois wins by more than a touchdown.

Austin Scott probably won't be on the field to give Illinois the ball once or twice, either.

College football is dead to me this year, so I'm not sure how I made it into this thread. However, Auburn-Florida is a mismatch. Auburn's offensive line is is more inexperienced than Florida's defensive front...Florida will be able to pressure...wait who is this Brandon Cox of which you speak? The quarterback that is starting for Auburn this weekend is also dead to me....I'd rather watch the true frosh...Kodi Burns...Brad Lester is still serving a suspension and thus electrifying Mario Fannin will get many carries at RB...he will do very well until he fumbles..multiple times...bleh...thank Jeebus I still have the NFL.

Edit - However, I would take Auburn and 18 points if I were a betting man....i believe Florida wins by 10 or 14.

i'm just throwing it out there, not proclaiming it a mortal lock or anything. it's my own biased opinion, and i'd probably feel differently if i were a psu guy.

but remember, mendenhall and benn are awfully fast and strong as well--forgetting the fact that the illini o-line has dominated every team they've faced thus far. not that they've faced a front like psu's yet, of course.

it will be the young illini's next test.

Why is Georgia 16 and South Carolina 21? Dew was right, it's certain schools that get way too much leeway. USC loses a tough game vs LSU and Georgia beats an over ranked Alabama and they flip flop. God I hate the coaches poll.

Remember what happened to UT last time they played KSU? I'm not saying we'll win again, but we're a much better team than we were last year. Texas has pretty much almost pissed down their leg in 2 of their games this year. I wouldn't count KSU out. We've had 2 weeks to prepare.

That should be a very good game. 2 weeks, is this a bowl game? :D

did anyone catch the 3+ minute rant by the oklahoma state coach? what a lunatic.

Why?

Someone questioned the testicular fortitude of his back up qb and he took great exception.

I like it when a coach defends his players. If he does it weekly like that it's one thing but I don't see anything wrong with it other than it's a bit over the top but I've been peeved like that before too and once it starts flowing, well it gets flowing.

Does anyone know what happened to all the North Carolina teams? There's a lot of talent around the area, what's going on? Are other teams just reaching in and taking all the blue chips?

What the heck.

Ohio State freshman quarterback arrested:

Freshman Antonio Henton, a reserve quarterback on the Ohio State football team, is in Franklin County Municipal Court this morning on a charge of soliciting a prostitute. Court records show that he was arrested at N. High Street and 6th Avenue by an undercover police officer.

Whoa, you're telling me an Ohio State player had a run-in with the law? I'm shocked.

Geez, next you'll tell me Michigan football players all major in BS like "general studies" and get basically no education.

Wait, what?

I sincerely hope no one is stupid enough to believe Notre Dame players are Catholic. There are a great many students at that school, athletes and nonathletes, who aren't.

You've finally seen the light. :D

Seriously though, even though I think Georgia is a better all around football team than South Carolina, they shouldn't be ranked ahead of them. Part of the reason, I think, is that the Bulldogs began the season ranked better, and that Georgia is given more slack because of recent success.

Like you said, it's back to the argument I made before. Past success gives teams more leeway in voters' minds - rightly so or not.

anybody that roots for a major college program and thinks that the athletes on the team are students of the same caliber as the average student at that school is kidding themself.
