Angel Pagan, who has been working out at the Cubs' off-season facility in Arizona, isn't expected to rejoin the team this season.

''I think we're at the point where the season's passed him by,'' manager Lou Piniella said. Pagan has been out since early August after coming down with colitis.

Geo Soto, your table is ready on the playoff roster.

Soto was already ready. He can replace an injured position player or an injured pitcher now on the postseason roster because of the new rule.

That's correct. You can replace an injured player with any player that was in the organization on August 31st.

I wouldnt expect any Cubs to be on any playoff rosters they way they're playing.
The Cubs lead by a game again, and the Brewers play real teams from here on out. It's definitely appropriate to talk about playoff rosters.

I'm pretty sure post #1 was sarcasm and post #2 was playful joking. :)
