haha howard just hit a grand slam phillies lead the cardinals 11-0.

 

i cant tell you how great its been here on campus with the cardinals being out of it. rarely seeing any red on campus.

 

It's great not to have to worry about them - Howard has 2 HRs and the Phillies have 4

It's games like this that make it suck when you're too poor to afford MLB TV and have to follow Gamecast.

 

Jones singled sharply to RF, Griffey double pumps towards home and instead throws to 3rd. As the throw is coming in to 3rd DeRosa just stops about 15 feet shy of the bag, and the throw hits him in the back of the leg, he walks in to 3rd safely.

 

My first thought was he was stopping to ensure Derrek scored before he got tagged out. Kasper theorized he may have read Encarnacion's eyes and purposely got in the path of the throw.

 

Well done there. I was wrong about DeRosa this offseason.

I started watching the game late, what did Hill do that makes you guys think he injured himself?

 

Assistant Trainer came out to the mound he was awkwardly stretching out his leg after a pitch. Couldn't see anything specific on the actual pitch, but there was definitely something that bothered him.

Delivery and mechanics were clearly thrown off. The trainer also came out for a visit. I believe Ping thought something was wrong with Hill's leg and delivery. I'm inclined to defer to his judgment on this matter.

Ping said he wasn't following through with his pitches and was landing differently and, after getting hurt, he went exclusively FB.
