You know, I was happy when Ball State almost beat Michigan last year. That was a game that we had no business winning.

But this game pissed me off. We should have beaten Nebraska.

How do you go up 37-28, with the ball, with like 10 minutes left, and throw a pick-six? HOW??? Nate Davis threw for 422 yards and 3 TDs and scored another on the ground, but I can't be happy with him. Dante Love had 214 yards receiving, but dropped what would have been the game-winning TD on the last drive. I can't be happy with him. I can't be happy with any of it. I suppose it's a positive sign for the program that I'm pissed after a 1-point loss to Nebraska in Lincoln.

If this team had shown up against Miami and not thrown that pick-six, BSU would be 4-0 and on their way to the top 25 if they kept winning. The team is that close to breaking through.

If they play like this, there's really no reason to not finish 10-2 - a team with an offense like ours should beat Illinois and IU on the road and shouldn't lose any MAC games.

Uggh...I hate this. I've been here 4 years, and in that time we've come damn close to beating a big conference team 4 times (BC - 2004, IU - 2006, Mich - 2006, and Nebraska - 2007). This 'so close' feeling is too common.

mizzou won in not-very impressive fashion. now we get a nice bye week before Nebraska in Columbia in front of a sold out crowd. it should be crazy.

ps. jeremy maclin = devin hester part 2

Yeah, the best part of today was Ole Miss and Illinois making our wins over them look better.

Maclin is ridiculous, and Nebraska's defensive showing the last two weeks has me optimistic that we can put up about 90 points on them even if we can't stop their offense. I can't wait for October 5.

it would be absurd if Nebraska stayed ranked and OU didn't jump over at least Florida, if not LSU too.

of course none of those things will happen, demonstrating said absurdity.

Sounds a lot like the NIU-SIU game when NIU had the game well in hand (31-14 with 10 mins left) before Nicholson threw a pick 6 that turned the whole game around. I feel for you and Ball State. They definitely should've won that game. But there's no question in my mind that BSU is the best team in the MAC this year.

SIU beat Arkansas Pine-Bluff 58-3 in 100 degree heat to improve to 4-0. Yeah, that was a fun one to be at..not. But our defense looks real improved this year. I'm expecting big things from us in the I-AA title chase.

Real impressed with Illinois today. Definitely reiterated the fact why I thought they were a bowl team before the season. A solid defense and great players at the skill positions on offense. Like someone else said, my only concern is when defenses begin to stack the box with 8 or 9 defenders. I think Juice can make other teams' corners pay, but we have yet to see that. I'm sure we're going to see if he can make other teams pay in the coming weeks.

And hey, NIU actually has a lead (over Idaho).

anyone watching the okie state-texas tech game? over 1300 yards of total offense. pretty entertaining.

Graham Harrell has over 600 yards passing and no picks, and OK State has 3 different players with at least 115 yards rushing. And one of them has to lose.

Still not sure what to make of Michigan St. I am willing to go out on the limb and say they will make a bowl. There stupid mistakes are down about 200% from the last couple of years. They just dont seem as talented as about 8 other Big Ten schools. Which with the way the Big Ten is going is not good. I am happy they won though.

This may sound funny but I kind of feel bad for Notre Dame. Of course as soon as they win their first 3 games next year and break into the Top 5, I will remember why I dislike them so.

Why should OU jump LSU. True LSU only won by 12, but they were playing the #12 team in the country.

OU is impressive. But they beat up on Tulsa. Tulsa isn't a bad team, but keep in mind that ULM was leading Tulsa at the half before Tulsa ended up winning that game. OU should have demolished Tulsa.

I stopped watching with about 8 minutes left. It's not even that I was giving up. I just didn't want to watch anymore.

But hey, at least we keep pulling Jimmy for Sharpley for no real reason at the end of games.

WOOOOW at that stiff arm. Good job, Felix.

Felix is on my fantasy team. :)

well SC had absolutely no business being #12. that's merely a function of being an SEC team who has an early win against another SEC team, and Spurrier being their coach. if I were a gambler, I would bet Miami over So. Car. in a heartbeat. but it's mostly about how impressive OU has been.

Any talk on campus of what time that game is going to be? I know nothing is set yet, but are there any rumors?

It's not a guarantee yet but a 7:00 pm start could be very likely. unfortunately i don't think we find out until 5 or 6 days before the game.

Arkansas just gave up the lead, 21-20, and needs a defensive stop here to stop the raging Kentucky momentum. That fumble return for the TD changed everything completely.

you do fantasy collegefootball??? jeez. I hope colt brennan was the #1 pick.

No, only the major conferences plus ND are there so no Colt. Plus it's a keeper league so some of the guys were already taken. The QB at Mizzou went #1 overall.

Unless a miracle happens, congrats on the win Warp.

Kentucky deserves to lose for this [expletive] play. On the 3 yd. line and use the 3rd string HB, where's Dixon?

Too many penalties, too many turnovers, what a [expletive] loss.
