I hope nobody thinks he's all of a sudden awesome...I think its more of a "I wish we could have got in on that" thing. Its only 17 games, but its still note-worthy.

Beane and Geren must be in possesion of magic pixie dust.

just like the cardinals! everybody's lucky except for the cubs.

Lucky, more intelligent; same difference.

magic angel dust. they are just so much more intelligent than the rest of us, that they use the high from this magic angel dust to alter our own realities.

I suppose this would be a good thread to point out Jerry Blevins' pitching line for the River Cats in one regular season and two postseason appearances:

8 2/3 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 0 R, 17 K

Not sure what he threw in his first two outings but he said he was throwing just a fastball and curveball tonight (no changeup) and was lights out. He had 3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 6 K and all six strikeouts came in the first two innings. He looked very good.

Jerry Blevins is going to be a solid reliever in the bigs.

I was attempting to be ironic, but this was obviously lost in translation.

Small sample size or not, he couldn't buy a single with the Cubs.

AMEN.

It's great that the guy's getting a few hits now, but he was killing the Cubs with his anemic bat the whole time he was here. Hendry should be applauded for correcting the problem as quickly as he did.

A day late in updating but Jerry Blevins went 1 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings on Wednesday and struck out four while walking one. And the River Cats are one win away from their third PCL title in five years.
