Stl going to 6 man rotation

Sounds like the Cards are going to a 6 man rotation from here on out. They are removing Reyes from the rotation however, and inserting.....Mike Maroth. Mulder is also back in the rotation. I find it odd that a team who has struggled getting good starting pitching all year, they now feel they have 6 guys who can start?

When does Mulder come back for them? If this week, that just seems too soon. I haven't even heard about his rehab starts or anything.

 

Anybody can be better than Reyes. That guy's been just awful.

 

I'm actually surprised they didn't try to pick up Traschel before we did. Or maybe Hendry's pick-up was just a block so STL couldn't get him!

You know, I actually thought of that...a guy like Traschel could/would have really helped STL down the stretch...I don't think he's going to hurt us at all..may even help...but if he was sought after by STL and us having him keeps them from winning even one more game than they otherwise would have it could be another very solid move by Jim Boy.

We basically are going to a 6 man rotation. However, while rest is good, I prefer that out best pitchers pitch as often as possible these last 30 days so we can make the playoffs.

Umm if you read the 1st post it says Mulder is starting vs Pitt this week lol. I know hes had at least 2 maybe more rehab outings as well.

For even more Maroth fun, we can do some selective endpointing and just look at his line as a Cardinal. That's a 7.70 FIP and 13.36 RA.

 

Reyes hasn't been good this year, but he's also been somewhat unlucky by component measures. This move, coupled with Mulder getting a start without ever facing a single ML hitter, is beyond me.

Yea, Reyes numbers arent good, but Maroth has been pathetic. I really dont understand how any Stl fans can be behind this move.

Mulder has had four rehab starts so far (3 at high-A Palm Beach and one at AAA Memphis).
