Well that was a terrible result, but I still don't mind the decision.

Why? Even if it works, I'm complaining.

Yeah right.

Yeah so, I'm the first to call out decisions that are bad even if they work

Lou needs to be fired after this season. We need a more competent manager

Don't agree, not that I'm in love with Lou like some are. However, what a terrible decision

Lou made the right decisions in that AB (first bunting, and then starting the runners with a full count).

Blame Kendall's execution, but not Lou's managing.

I am in heaven this year after Dustys regime. I dont sit there and go WTF anymore.

Don't mind the call. Would have liked the faster runner to be at 2B though. Not much Lou could do about that, though, with no speed left on the bench other than Felix.

His crazy eyes got even crazier! That guy rules!

Oh yeah he was aweosme there. 4 baserunners that inning. if it wasnt the cubs and their lack of fundamental ability he loses.

We hadn't scored since what? The 3rd inning? Sorry, but that was not a bad decision, it was bad execution. Kendall couldn't execute the bunt, and then he couldn't execute with the runners moving. It's that simple.

This is pathetic, the Cards are going to win this division.

Oh, no ask half the board. They can't with that staff. Lol. They are already printing up playoff tickets in St. Louis.

Losses like this don't scream out for a "WTF?!?!" How many times do we see these dopes score all their runs in the first third of a game, often in the first inning, and then the bats go completely quiet for the rest of it? WTF indeed.

Thank God we have Soriano coming back and thank God we have a day off for these mutts to lick their wounds.

Why would you send the tying run with 0 outs in the 9th when he's already in scoring position. It makes no sense.

and to compund the problem you had the top of your lineup coming up. You know, the guys you want up in that spot.

All Kendall has to do there is make a simple sacrifice bunt. It's fundamental baseball.

I was just admiring his crazy eyes, not his pitching. Settle down there, McBuzzkill.

Well, hell, we are up by 1 run and we do lead the league in one run games.. :)

This would be how a team outperforms a Pythag record by 20 games.

Insanity...anyone know what the record is?

Theres actually a really good article about how the Diamondbacks are "beating" their Pythagorean Record.

They really aren't "beating" anything, they just are really good but tend to lose in blowouts because of how bad the back end of their bullpen is.

Where is said article?

Don't know if you ever got it:

so you don't need a hit to tie it up? But I hated the call. Valverde is a strikeout pitcher. Fontenot isn't fast. Too much risk. Sucks it didn't work out.

But why put him in that position?? Oh well, doesn't matter. We wouldn't have have scored regardless, so pointless to argue who's fault it was.

I can't believe Lou put the hit-and-run on, that was a terrible decision. Some of the blame goes on Kendall, I guess, for not making contact, but still, no reason to do that.

No it is painfully predictable it doesn't work out.

Because your hitter just failed to move the runners over and you want Pie to force a throw to only first base on a ground ball. That can only happen if you start the runners. It didn't work, but the end result of the Kendall AB needed to be runners on 2nd & 3rd with 1 out. That's why he had Jason bunting in the first place.
