I personally believe lineup order does matter. Imagine having the pitcher and neifi in front of your best hitter instead of having them in the 8 and 9 spot.

 

James isn't proposing that you put names in a bag and draw them randomly. What he's refuting is the old school notion that you need a speedy leadoff hitter, all or nothing #4 hitter, etc.

So your saying you would want Ty Cobb hitting 4th? Lol.

 

yeah definitely wouldn't want a cleanup hitter who finished top 5 in SLG% 15 times

I was kidding hence the lol part.

if only we had a catcher leading the PCL in batting average, slugging and OPS, with a .462 BA and a 1.304 OPS in August... would could call that guy up and let him play

 

Would everyone be content if he was the backup catcher? Or does he have to start?

Backup catcher is better than not having him at all on this team. Hill brings nothing to the table. Only a fool like Muskat looks at win/loss records to determine if the catcher is good or not

 

Apparently not, because Ive heard Lou talk about it, and what other reason would he be here? I think there are more fools in this organization that believe that crap than just Muskat

I wasn't paying attention, was the donation to the Floyd family or to the hospital?

 

I find it ridiculous if it was to the Floyd family.
