Miggy - .335/.413/.611 .340 EQA - 24 years old

Pujols - .313/.417.547 .325 EQA - 27 years old

Their age 24 seasons are going to end up being extremely similar (outside of K's).

I just hope miggy doesn't eat his way out of what should be a tremendous career.

Miggy is the anti-Kerry Wood (re: weight)

whereas Kerry looks like he hasn't eaten anything for 6 months, Miggy is looking more and more like Bartolo Colon

I think Pujols will have the better career.

He'll keep himself in better shape and he has much better defense at his position.

Although they are both certainly future Hall of Famers at this pace.

Assuming Pujols actually was 24 at that time.

Seems like people said the same thing about Tony Gwynn. Speed isn't really that big a part of Cabrera's game. As far as I'm concerned he can keep a hot dog in his glove while playing RF for my team with a beer in his back pocket so long as he keeps putting up those numbers.

Speed or no speed, being a fatass increases your chance for injury significantly - and will eventually limit his versatility to where he won't really be an option in the OF. Wouldn't hurt him to take his physical fitness a little more seriously.

Fat or not, he would be an excellent Cub.

Big is fine, fat is not.

If you're fat, your career have a much shorter shelf life.

Career's one thing. If it gets really out of hand . . . well, Kirby Puckett and Eric Gregg come to mind . . .

I would weep many, many tears of joy if the Cubs somehow managed to snag Miggy next year. It's not gonna happen, but still, a manboy can dream...

Where would he play? RF?

I'd play him in LF and move Soriano to RF (Murton would almost certainly be a piece of the multi-team deal it would take to snag Cabrera). A hitter that good you make room for him. That said, however, I think Miggy is pretty adamant that he wants to stay at 3B, so that could make signing him longterm after trading for him a problem, hence why I think him being a Cub is pretty much a pipe dream.

Shouldn't this thread be titled "Fat Miggy vs Albert"?

when I read the thread title (and saw it was started by IMB!) I figured it was going to be a "who's fatter" contest between Miggy and the cartoon character
