2.5 back and fading fast?

Not really surprising. No matter what anyone says, we're not a real good team.

Take 2 top run producers out of any lineup and most teams won't be real good.

they weren't real good with those guys.

yeah, 18 games over .500 in a 35 game span (or something similar to that) isn't good.

Well 2-5 including a predicted loss today since Soriano went down (Ramirez played in one of those games). 58-51 with those guys

Everyone take a deep breath. We're down 2 early in Coors Field with Johnny McScrub pitching. Let's see what he does the 2nd time through the order.

I think thats why were freaking out. Johnny McScrub would win the Cy Young if they faced the Cubs every game.

That's the game.

Two thirds of our starting pitching rotation are heart attack inducing.

3/5

Holy crap, I think my brain was apparently melting when I posted that.

i guess you and i have different definitions of "good." seven games over .500 doesn't do much for me...sorry.

Just ignoring the fact that the vast majority of good teams lose as many as 70 games in a season?

Let's say the Cubs lose this game (which is far from over). That leaves us 2.5 back with about 49 games left to play. We play 3 directly against the Brewers. Our schedule is easy. We get Ramirez back in our next game. We made up 8.5 games in a month. I think we can make up 2.5 games in more time than that.

Problem is, the Crew have an equally easy schedule and I'll eat my hat if we win the Wild Card. The Brewers are heating up, while we're fading. Ridiculous calls like the one on Theriot only raise the anger and panic level of a fanbase.

Optimism is a beautiful thing.
