The Cubs laid a stinker last night, but look to rebound and take the series against the Rockies.

Okay, I go on vacation and Soriano gets hurt, Bonds becomes HR King, Pagan gets sick, Cubs get swept by the Astros, and Anthony McFarland is out for the season. I will no longer be taking vacations.

Don't make me sick Cubs.

Not to mention Ramirez also got hurt, you missed missed your Game Thread start, and the sky fell.

How could you?

Harrikala is making his first major league appearance since 2005. He's 35 years old. He hasn't made a start since 1996.

We should light this guy up. That being said, he'll throw six shut-out innings against us.

Don't forget the Coors Field factor. We're doomed.

This has "Cubs got pwned" written all over it, by about 5-5:30p CST this evening.

Hate to say and think that, but its got all the makings.

At least Harrikala's a righty, so it won't be a triple whammy; that being he's (1) older, (2) "inexperienced" and unfamiliar to the Cubs hitters, & (3) a [soft-tossing] LHP.

How the hell are we still only 1 1/2 games out of first?

Answer: The Brewers suck in any city not called "Milwaukee." and "Houston."

Fixed. (Actually, Brewers suck in Houston too... until the L-astros bullpen comes in and blows leads or ties)

When the Cubs were down 7-2 I was at least supremely confident that they'd only be back .5 a game. Damn it!

We never fare well against guys that we've never faced. I'm not sure if anyone on the team has faced him b/c i was too lazy to look at the first page. So look for a low scoring game if we want to stay in it or a blowout in favor of the rockies.

TBA=Tim Harikkala, a journeyman who pitched 5 non consecutive seasons for 4 teams, with a career 5.91 ERA.

Translation: the Cubs are doomed today.
