I would consider putting Jones in the 2 spot against favorable matchups right now. However, this is not one of them, and I'd rather have put DeRosa there, then Murton tonight. We'll see if it works out or not.

Treasures, dude, Treasures!

My 11-year old nephew is with me. He wants to see Z pitch.

Just tell your nephew Z was out getting dehydrated.

He'll understand.

I was so pumped listening to the Brewers get creamed earlier. This lineup has destroyed that enthusiasm. Come on Lou. Honestly.

Just remember, everyone, that even if we lose our 4th in a row, no ground can be lost (in the Central).

Alas, we're falling behind in the WC race. Three games back at the moment.

Where are Houston and St. Louis again....

I do agree with the complaints of Jones batting 2nd though.

Not exactly sure about Lou's reasoning behind it, but you got a guy who's batting 15-36 vs Oswalt in his lifetime (Kendall), who's not even in the lineup at all, vs a guy who's 4-16 vs RoyO hitting 2nd.

He's definitely not playing the "hitter vs pitcher" percentages with this lineup.

If he is... he needs to get himself checked.

I will be yelled at - maybe deservedly so - but where the offense is right now, and no Soriano until at least Labor Day, the Central Pennant should be our lone focus. We're batting 5-6 teams for the WC, 3-4 are ahead of us currently, & another tied w/ us. So, IMHO, its "Central Pennant or bust" for our playoff hopes this season.

I think WC is out of the question with our current cast of characters ... right now Atlanta, Philly, and the NL West contenders are just better. Our best shot at the postseason is to win the central. As lousy as we've looked recently, the Brewers have shown that they don't have the pitching to win the division. It is entirely possible that <90 wins can still win the division.
