Something that we dont know about him, and something that could DL him at any moment. Why else would Lou have benched him twice in the past week in games that really mattered. Theres something that management doesnt want out.

Everyone knows what's wrong with him. He has a knee injury that he says won't be 100 percent until at least the offseason. The organization made a plan for him that involved regular days off, and they've stuck to that.

How come Ramirez can't get into shape enough to play 150 games a year?

To me he's just lazy, production be damned. The guy's making $14 million a year and he can't get his body in good enough shape to last an entire baseball season.

What a joke.

Did you ignore the rest of the thread? This is because of a specific injury earlier in the season, not his general fitness level.

Remember the injury was caused cause he was loafing and then decided to hustle. Unfortunately it was one of the only times I saw Ram loaf. He has hustled a bunch more this season.

That was a pretty dumb statement. Did you not even read what the posts before you said? He has a bum knee, so he get's scheduled off-days, this is so he can be there down the stretch for us.

I think the importance of these games are debatable. Especially with Soriano out for awhile, I think it's more important to Keep Aramis from messing up his knee any further so he is at optimum health for September.

I know! I mean, the fact that his defense hasn't gotten better every single year since he's been here says a lot about how hard he works.

Home runs are down roughly 10.58% in the NL and 14.37% in the AL compared to last year. These aren't straight YTD comparisons (baseball-reference doesn't have that data as I can tell), so these are based on HR/game rates.

Our homeruns are down 250000%

I hurt my knee two years ago and it still gives me all kinds of problems on very random days.

I haven't had the surgeries, but I'm with you. My father's family has a history of bad bones - I'm only 24, and I have an awful lower back, two miserably painful knees, and a bad hip joint. I'd probably fall apart playing everyday on a baseball diamond - I really feel for Aramis.

All that and I am only 28 my friend. My wife is older than I by several years and always jokes that she will be the one wheeling me around. I don't find that joke fuuny. Knee replacement in my future.
