I haven't had any problems with clearing cookies. I think throughout the day I've probably voted for Vance around 200 times at least.

What are you doing to clear your cookies? I'm going to tools/internet options and clicking delete cookies. I have also tried deleting files and all offline content as well, but cubs.com is still recognizing me as having voted for vance already. Beyond those steps, I'm pretty illiterate in terms of clearing the footprints on my computer, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I too was unable to vote again after clearing cookies. I have another problem too; I don't know if anybody knows anything about it. When I click on the link for the audition videos I can hear the sound, but I just see a green box instead of the video. This seems to be true for all of the mlb.com videos.

I am using Firefox, but all I had to do is go to Tools -> Options, click on the Privacy tab, and then on the Cookies tab. Then click clear cookies now, close out of the Options window and vote again.

This morning I was able to do the same thing with IE, but I had to close my browser and open a new browser window before attempting to vote again. However, that was with IE 6, and the results may be different with different browser versions (especially IE 7).

Thanks jkrapfl - based on everything you said, I'm almost positive that leaving work and getting back home is all I need to do. My other concern though, is that with that big disclaimer saying that voting is only one of many factors used for selection, a Vance landslide of epic proportions would encourage them to throw the results out. It also concerns me that, upon completion of the voting for yesterday's candidates, they didn't show the results.

Regardless, Vance will be getting multiple hundred more votes this evening while I listen to Marshall pull the Cubs out of their funk.

I think closing and re-opening the browser is the trick. I just tried that and it did register a new vote. This is with IE7.

Not working for me. Every time I voted, I just used the new popup window that came up when I clicked the link a couple pages back in this thread, and every time I closed the window after voting, I cleared cookies and re-opened. I've also just opened new windows and browsed to the page myself. Not happening from here.

I do feel bad for elinore though...

Elinore is exactly why I think a Vance blowout could actually cost him the win. Whoever is in charge will see all they need to know from Vance's essay (30K posts, voting 100K times for DLEE) and decide that Elinore is the more deserving candidate and give her the win anyway.

I'm still going to vote for Vance relentlessly, but if that's what ends up happening, as long as it's in favor of Elinore, I won't be terribly disappointed.

Okay, I'm back home and got my firefox set up where I don't need a new browser or anything, so I can vote about ten times a minute. I'm stacking you up, Vance!! This will be my thanks for the premium.

Also, my apologies, but I'm going to have to drop a few in there for Elinore too. She's exactly the kind of Cubs fan I think about when I think of the amounts of pain this team causes and about how badly I want to see them win it. If cubs.com overlooks the results for any reason, I'd like to do my part to make the case for her selection instead.

Did you actually close the original browser window (not just the popup)? That's what I had to do.

Just dropped another 50 for you, vance. It might not matter at this point anyway.

If the poll is still up when I get back from work I'll vote some more.

Thanks guys. The coolest thing happened today. As I was entering the stadium to go to the game tonight, my cell phone rang. It was the producer for Fox and Company which is the local sports show on the ESPN radio station in Northeast Louisiana.

Anyway, they wanted to talk to me about this on the air, so I did a little ten minute interview in which we told their listeners how to vote and all. It was pretty cool.

Is that the one with Sean Fox. I went to LA Tech with him. Their show is horrible, but it's still cool you got on there.

Yeah that's the one. I like the show because it helps me with the local sports scene.

That's awesome. If there is a link to a video of the interview, I expect it to appear here immediately.

Also, I was voting for a while today and determined that I was able to get in approx 9 or 10 votes per minute, and did so before the game in a few different bunches of 6 or 7 minutes.

However, during the later part of the game, the popup window kept taking longer to load, with a noticeable delay in "waiting for mlb.cubs.fanforum" or whatever the exact name is. I was only able to vote about 6 or 7 times a minute and continued to do so, but then I realized that every time I voted, the count would increase by about 10 or 15. Between every single vote.

It held this rate for quite a while, and if soccer's reports about there being less than 4,000 votes on yesterday's poll with only a couple hours of middle-of-the-night voting time left, I'm pretty sure that means that of the nearly 17,000 votes that have been cast so far today, I bet more than 14K are yours. I'd estimate that somewhere around 5 or 6 hundred came from me.

I also voted for Elinore about 30 times. Sorry Vance.

There's no video link to the interview...but they may have audio up in their archives. It's usually late getting there...but I'll check when I have a chance.

Thanks guys. This is great. Considering I've been away from the computer all day, I owe this to you guys.
