Before I go on my voting rampage (my ten votes so far has barely scratched the surface), deleting the cookies is all it takes, and our votes will continue to be registered? Are we sure of this? Is there any chance they have found a way around that?

It's not registering additional votes. I'm deleting my cookies, closing my browser, deleting all files to include offline content, and it's still saying that my vote was already cast ten minutes ago. Looks like stacking this thing is going to take a little more than that.

Um...

So I just tried to vote again after voting a while ago and not clearing my cookies. It's letting me vote over and over again, and it adds the 1 vote to the vote count everytime I place another vote. Wonder what's up with that. I'm using Firefox for Linux.

As much as I hate what the Tribune hacks have done to Harry's tradition, I have to give a vote to Elinore. An 80 year old Cub fan, hell she might not make it through the song, which would be a fitting end to this sham.

Plus Vance is enlisting help from some of the Ozark's finest: http://gatewayredbirds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=20940, if Vance wins, the terrorists truly have won.

In the popup window confirming your vote, it gives who you voted for and the time. Does that time keep updating too? It's not for me.

yeah, my latest time voted was 12:49pm which was the last time I voted. Don't know what's up with that.

My video probably sucks...so don't watch it... just vote for me!

Given those conditions, you got my vote as well. ;)

Now let's just hope foreigners were eligible to vote.

So Vance has asked Cardinals fans to vote for him? Shouldn't qualify for immediate disqualification from the contest?

As a great man once said (sort of):

All I'm saying is that you could have robbed banks, sold dope or stole your grandmother's pension checks and none of us would have minded. But begging for votes from Cardinals fans, man that's un-American.

If you want to know if you are clearing your cookies properly, one time just vote for one of the other competitors and see if it changes what it says your vote was at the bottom. If it does, you're doing it right. If it stays on Vance, you're not.

Everytime I vote for Elinore it registers as a vote. Maybe it's just Vance? Maybe Cubs.com realizes he tried all kinds of tricks to keep voting for D-Lee in 2005 and they are on to him?

His pride in the 100K votes for DLEE! in 05 is probably a double-edged sword, as it probably went a long way to help him get selected, and it also probably tipped the Cubs off to his style of shenanigans.

However, it's not just Vance. When I clear my cookies, it won't even let me vote for anyone else either, though I will no longer risk a vote going through for a non-vance candidate. That old lady is pretty tempting though, so if the Cubs end up implementing executive decision against the voting that will most likely be in Vance's favor, I hope she is the one they pick.

Can someone post a link to yesterday's results? I was looking for the numbers and couldn't find them. I think someone said earlier that around 3,800 votes were cast yesterday, and today is already up over 4,000. If I figure out how to clear my cookies properly, that number could double soon.

It doesn't show the results for yesterday's poll on the site. You can still see their audition tapes but you can't see anything about the number of votes cast.

But yeah, I posted around 3 a.m. that there were only 3500 votes cast to that point. For Vance's poll, there are already 4200.

I haven't had any problems with clearing cookies. I think throughout the day I've probably voted for Vance around 200 times at least.
