...but, how do the Cubs handle playoff tickets? Or, a better question would be how did they handle it in 2003. Was it a virtual waiting room type of thing where everyone had a chance, or do they do it like the Cardinals did last year where you have to register and then hopefully be selected to have the chance to enter the virtual waiting room? And please tell me that you don't have to be a resident of Illinois to buy them, like the policy the Bears put in place.

I know it's too early to be thinking like this, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's saving some vacation time for October.

Someone with a better memory can correct me if i'm wrong but i believe you had to be a resident of illinois, nw indiana, or se wisconsin. I also think you had to be there in person. I may be totally off, however and thinking about the Bears games last year.

And the skies being to cloud over, faint sounds of thunder can be heard....now louder, darker....LOUDER!!

...a wayward voice cries out in the distance, "dear Lord, they know not what they do! They do not mean to tempt fate!!"

The tickets for Wrigley and Turner Field were handled with standard VWRs, open to everyone. The Marlin bastards restricted sales to south Florida, yet still wound up with a park overrun with Cub fans.

I was able to procure Wrigley NLDS and NLCS tickets through the VWR, though I expect any future onsales to be made considerably more difficult through the use of email lotteries similar to those used for the dugout boxes and such.

Getting a ticket to see the Cubs play in Atlanta in 2003 was pretty easy. Hopefully, they'll meet the Braves in the first round again. :)

I was visiting Atlanta several years ago and was really bored. It was playoff season and I am like well it would be nice to see a playoff game but I doubt I could get tickets at the last minute. Boy was I wrong the stadium was half filled and I got really nice tickets. I got to watch Schilling dominate some bad Braves starter I forgot who it was. I was completely shocked that come playoff time you could just walk up to the stadium and get good tickets easy but apparently you can

Destroy this thread! Destroy it now before they awaken! You fools! You've doomed us all!!!!!

It was a standard VWR release, limited to 4 tickets per person per series.

How quickly did the tickets go before being sold out? If I were to open like 70 windows like I did for regular season tickets, would I be likely to get tickets?

I got through the VWR somewhere around 45 minutes into the sale but could only get 2 tickets to game 1 of the NLCS. Other than the final score, can't say it was a bad experience. If memory serves correctly I had 2 windows open.

i would rather see the padres in the first round...destroy them we will

We don't match up well at all with the Padres...but they are now stuck with this newfangled curse of Mr. Barrett.

I'm thinking along those lines right with you.

Also, if the Brewers and Cubs met in the NLCS, how amazing would it be to take over their park for a playoff series?

Doesn't matter where the Cubs play their ballpark will be ours!

Pretty much. I went to Atlanta in 2003. Just missed out on going to Florida and had every intention of going to New York.
