Newsday - The Yankees are still trying to upgrade the bullpen and still talking to the Rangers about Eric Gagne.

There are reportedly four suitors for Gagne at this point -- the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and the Brewers.

He can veto a trade to the Red Sox, but not to the Yankees or Mets.

What's with GM's in the NL Central thinking they need 35 "proven" relievers on their team?

NY Daily news has the Cubs in on Gagne as well. This makes me very happy. Source mlbtraderumors

I like Gagne but Id rather fill a hole on the team

It's beyond me why anyone wants the Cubs to go after Gagne. The last thing this team needs to do is give up any of their trading chips for a relief pitcher.

Exactly that was basically my point in saying Id rather they fill a hole, then get Gagne

I have a gut feeling he'll wind up in Milwaukee, and that would suck.

Since it was posted on mlbtraderumors, it probably means that it isn't true, but the only reason I could see the Cubs getting in on a Gagne deal is to block the Brewers from getting him.

As per usual, the NY paper has is it wrong. He can veto a trade to the Yankees or Mets. They are on his "no trade" list, the Red Sox are not.

Who cares if Milwaukee gets him? Let them have him, and I hope they give up lots of valuable chips for him.

Closers are so overrated.
