when one of the players is struggling to be a mainstay on a 25 man roster and the other is a consecutive all star, you can. i will give soriano more, a lot more, leway than cedeno.

Uh, so Soriano wasn't stupid for swinging at the first pitch? He certainly was in my mind. Actually, I've constantly said Soriano has one of the worst plate approaches I've ever seen. Doesn't make him not good, but he certainly doesn't have much of a baseball IQ.
