It would have. Ross had just enough time to catch the ball turn and brace for a hit. Ross was standing up when he caught the ball. A slide by Jones and he has a 75% chance of scoring in my estimation.

 

Whatever, I'm done with this team tonight. Hopefully the Brewers lose 1 of the 2 tomorrow so we can only lose a half game to Harang

we may have lost but the fight this team has consistently shown lately I still love this team. Sure We lost but we came back to tie it in the 9th once again just came up a little short get um tomorrow boys put it behind ya and win the next 1! No way brewers win again! Manny Parra a reliever is starting the game for them so we'll see how that goes.

Games out don't matter as much as games out on the loss side. We're still just two out on the loss side.

 

It would have been nice if our leadoff man actually found a way to get on base at least once tonight.

Damn, that is a rough, rough loss. It's one like this that good teams are able to fight back from, so hopefully the Cubs won't just roll over and go into a funk.

It's pretty obvious that this team could use another outfielder, or two. Jones and Floyd have been pretty bad except an occasional good weekend every now and then. It would also be great if our $136 million LF would produce a little more than an .850 OPS.

He's not a reliever. He was brought up to be used as a reliever for the time being. But, he will be a starter and was a starter in the minors.

He's not a reliever. He was brought up to be used as a reliever for the time being. But, he will be a starter.

Either way he is better than the guy the Cards are throwing out there.

Beyond being cold at the plate, his approach in the field is really noticeably lackluster and costing the Cubs key outs and runs. It's like he's sometimes forgetting there's a game going on as he trots towards the ball on the ground.

Sure it would have...If JJ was running all out and slid head first, I bet he gets in before the catcher could apply the tag. We'll never know, because JJ was such a pud running around third.
