Win tonight moves us within 1 and could also potentially give us the wildcard lead with some help from the Astros.

Let's bring out the

Sweeping the Cards would essentially be the dagger in their season, no?

Yes it would.

Well if they sweep the Brewers than maybe they are somewhat back in it

The Cubs are 8 games ahead of the Cards themselves, remember. If we do what we should with Cincy this weekend (not a lock by any means considering their recent play and our inability to beat them when we need to) then all the Cards will be doing is lowering the deficit by a game or two.

Cubs are 2-0 since my son was born. He knows not the agony of defeat. I don't think he's ready for it yet, either.

Doesn't matter.

They don't have the pitching to REALLY be in it.

you aren't raising him as a cub fan, are you?

<----My one year old (Rian Grace) just said Cubs on Sunday. Great moment for me. :D

Earlier in the season my seven year old asked if the Cubs were really the best then why did they lose so much? I told her they were just being good sports, and letting other teams win sometimes. My wife did this:

I would love to see Marquis stick it to the Cards then I could bug my Cards friends with this question: "It's the second half, so when is Marquis gonna start stinkin again?".

Brewers suffered a heartbreaker in extras. The Cubs are on the move.

I hate this black hole at the catchers spot..Id just keep Soto in there since he has a arm and has way more potential than any of the other 2.

Well, at least Kendall is 5/10 off Looper in his career. I also think Kendall is probably the right choice to catch Marquis if they are going to alternate the two catchers (because Z already has Hill and Marquis is the other quality hitting pitcher).
