I've asked before if people from this board get together for Wrigely games, but given that this is the first year the Brewers matter, do any of you (in Chicago) get together to go to games at Miller Park to root against the Brewers? Mods, if this is in the wrong place, please redirect.

I'm all about rooting against the brewers but no need to go to their park when the cubs arent there for the sole purpose of rooting against them.

Yeah, I don't get this at all.

Yeah, I don't get this at all.

I enjoy attending baseball games at Miller Park and the Brewers have a fun, young team. I think, more than ever, I'd be open to attending a game because the Brewers are suddenly worth watching and I've always enjoyed seeing games at places other than Wrigley.

I have three weeks off in August and I think I'll hit up a game at Miller. I also want to catch a game at the Cell. Needless to say, I won't be cheering for the Brewers or Sox.

What I'm trying to say is... I wouldn't go to Miller Park just to cheer against the Brewers. I'd go to Miller Park because it's a nice place to catch a game, the brewers are an exciting team, and it would be a fun night.

This is closer to what I was getting at. I personally love games at the new Miller Park. I've gone to both Cubs and non-Cubs games there. Now that Brewers games actually matter, I'd be more into it. Obviously I'd have a vested interest in seeing the Brewers lose the games I go to now.

i hated Miller Park and wouldn't go out of my way to go there again

Really? I think you're the only person i've ever heard say that. What about it didn't you like?

a) the parking sucks. If the place is sold out, they have parking for maybe 2/3 of the people. everyone else gets detoured off to god knows where. we ended up parking in some neighborhood and walking a mile (in the rain) to the park

b) it's a huge concrete and plastic airport hanger. nothing warm and inviting about it at all.

c) the roof was (is?) broken and they didn't open the windows

Off course.... we never have that problem at Wrigley, eh?

true, but Miller Park is built in the middle of a barren wasteland west of Milwaukee. They could've had 100 acres of parking had they so desired.

I've never heard anyone who actually liked Miller Park.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Miller park until now.

Same here. It's been good reports. And I've enjoyed my time there as well. It's easier to get to than Wrigley from where I live so we often go there instead for games.

I was there once, back in 2001 (I think? The year with the 8 game losing streak followed immediately by the 12 game win streak) and it was the only game I've seen Kerry Wood start in person. That said, it can't hold the jock of Wrigley, Fenway, PNC.....shoot, I even like The Cell better (shudder)

I have never been to Fenway or PNC (but want to desparately) but I don't think the Cell is anything great. I don't think Miller Park is the best ballpark but it's definately up there in my opinion. I like it much better than Oakland's park and Tampa's park.

For parking stay at a hotel. There's a Sheraton in Broofield that did free shuttles. You can get good deals on the hotel, too.

Miller Park is not "up there" with the best ballparks, unless you mean in the top half. It's probably in a second tier of stadiums that are pretty nice because they're newish, but not terribly impressive. It looks like a factory from the outside and feels like an aircraft hanger on the inside (though not as much as Chase Field).
