I'd go

Basebawl or Milwaukee Boo-ers.

If I were naming a drink of Ryan Braun's tears, that is.

I thought of the worst/best name for Ryan's proposed drink, but it's too awful to post here. Think about it.

Ryan Braun just took 2nd in Rookie of The Year tonight.

Yep - Tulowitsky came through bigtime. Clutch performance, bigtime stage, going to the post-season. Granted, none of this should matter in the scheme of who the best rookie is across a 162-game span*, but it will.

* Remark refers to factors listed, not who is more deserving

It's too bad, too, since Braun's vorp is a whole 22 points higher than Tulo's.

But Tulo's a good defensive player and Braun's a terrible defensive player. I think they're about even.

Tulowitzki's WARP3 is 10.2.

Braun's is 5.3.

The difference in defensive value between a gold glove caliber SS and the kind of play at 3B that has a player almost invariably moved off the hot corner in very short order is quite striking. The Davenport Translations have Tulo 29 runs above average at short, and Braun 21 runs below average at 3B. It more than covers the gap on their offense.

Take a look at Tulowitski's numbers and you will see that they are largely Coors Field numbers. A .960 OPS at Coors and a .720 OPS away from home.

Braun has splits that are slightly favored by playing at home too, but not near the difference. (1.045 OPS at Miller Park, .966 OPS in away games)

Tulowitski has had a great season, but it is not nearly the season that Braun had.

Road splits for Rockies players aren't the same as road splits for non-Coors players. Beyond not having Coors in its road games along with being in a division full of pitcher's parks, there have been studies attributing a hangover effect to Coors. I don't recall how conclusive the studies were, or how much the humidor affects them, but you can't simply look at Tulo's road splits to another player's and go off of that.

Not accusing you of doing this Jenksfan, you did mainly present the #s without comment, but it's why Tulo and Braun are far closer than their base #s show.
