Floyd and/or Jones need to start hitting for power as well.

Wow. Tough crowd.

Can't really get too excited about a 4-3 trip against the likes of the Nationals and the Pirates.

7-0 or 6-1 on the road is an unrealistic expectation-I said that before the trip started. Look to how many teams in the NL. It's not easy to even win 7 out of 10 (before today, the Cubs were the only team in the NL to have a 7-3 record or better in their last 10 games). If we were at home against these two teams, then maybe 6-1, but on the road the highest I think one can expect is 5-2. Add in the fact the Cubs faced 3 left-handers this week, and the expectation probably goes down to 4-3, and that's exactly what they did (beat the 4 right-handers, lose to the 3 left-handers).

OK, so youre acknowledging that theres a matter of degree. I agree. Its about run production whether its timely RBI or HRs. Id take Aramis' .302 and 15 HRs over D Lees .340 and 6 HRs. And actually, Aramis has numbers thats more in line with what youd expect from a 1B than D Lee.

It's not exciting, but it's not terrible either. It's just kind of there.

Who said to get excited? Pretty hard to complain about how things have got the last 3 weeks. I'm sure people will find reason to.

End of April: Cubs – 6th place, 5.5 gb, 4 under .500

End of May: Cubs – T-4th place, 6.5 gb, 7 under .500

End of June: Cubs – 2nd place, 7.5 gb, 1 under .500

All-Star Break: Cubs – 2nd place, 4.5 gb, 1 over .500

Let's keep it going into the second half. Brewers are a team we should catch and pass. This division is ours.

It beats a losing record on the trip. Also, it worked out considering that the Cubs left for the trip with a tired bullpen even though Marquis definitely helped give the bullpen a little bit of rest on Sunday against the Brewers.

I'll take the road trip, wish it would have been better. Actually, I wish the Cubs could just get to 3 games over.

D Lee has a .895 OPS and Aram has a .908 not alot of difference really. This team can win with DLee doing what hes doing, but him starting to hit HR's again, or adding another power bat into the lineup would make it alot easier.

I'm not sure what typical Cubs means... Predicting 7-0 or 6-1 was unrealistic. I was hoping for 5-2 but, all things considered, I'll take a 4-3 road trip.

People will bemoan losing to Maholm and Youman but they both have pitched decently. Maholm is 4-0 in his career against the Cubs so it's not necessarily a flaw of this 2007 team that they haven't been able to get to him. Also, we all made fun of Shane Youman but give him credit as well, he shut both the Cubs and Brewers down in his first two starts of the year...

For all the people that say "at least the Brewers lost to Snell and Gorzelanny...," don't forget that Youman also beat them and they lost to Simontacchi and Redding in WSH (both of whom lost to the Cubs).

The Brewers went 3-7 on their 10 game road trip (losing 2 of 3 to the Cubs, 3 of 4 to the Pirates, and 2 of 3 to the Nationals).

The Cubs are 6-4 during the same time period. Today's series loss is disappointing but the Cubs aren't playing poorly overall.

Lee has a .406 BABIP, which is the highest in the NL. When his luck normalizes, there will be a pretty sizable difference between his production and ARam's production.

But hasnt he had a high BABIP since joining the Cubs? I know not that high, but still high ?

he had a high babip in 2005, but it was at least somewhat appropriate given his batted ball data.

he's pretty much hitting the ball like he did pre-breakout. except he's not hitting home runs. he's due for a huge regression.
