Bruce: Is this a part of Lee's suspension?

No, it's a day off for Lee and DeRosa.

Giving Lee and DeRosa a day off at the same time seems incredibly not smart.

Why the hell is Jacque Jones starting?

I didn't even know he was still on the team?!!?

Oh he's there alright. Hasn't been on base in over two weeks (in other words has done absolutely nothing in over two weeks), but he's there.

There's no excuse to not get to 4.5 back tonight...if we lose I'm gonna be so pissed at Lou. At least we have Lee and Derosa coming off the bench for clutch pinch-hits.

Well, in my defense, most of the people who started tonight also started against Bergmann in May and did well.

Soriano was 2/4 with a double

Ramirez was 1/3 with a double

Floyd was 1/2 with a BB

Jones was 1/3 with a double (and his two flyouts were to the wall-this was the day we thought Jones really was putting it together because he hit 3 balls really hard)

Izturis was 1/3 with a double

So I may turn out foolish tonight, but it's not out of the question for me to be right :D

He scored the tying run on Sori's walkoff against colorado ten days ago. As a pinch runner.

Much to my surprise, this starting lineup looks better than the overall team.

Why not rest Lee when he's getting his suspension served?!

What a crazy lineup.

You do realize though, that the Cubs will go out and prove us wrong and score like seven runs. That's just the way these things work.

Wah, Wah, Wah!

This team should still win tonight. If you want to get anything for Jacque, you might as well get him in the lineup and give him a chance to show something to other teams.

i didn't even know pie had died

It was a slow and painful demise.

The something he shows is not going to be good.

forfeit lineups like this one, often work out for the Cubs somehow.

I remember a couple of years back a double header (2004 maybe) when Dusty put out his forfeit squad against Pavano (when he was having a Cy Young type year) and they blew him away, and then the actual competent lineup was shut down by David Weather making an emergency start, a couple weeks after being DFA'd by the Astros for sucking too much.

That's what I was thinking. Wish the team would just demote Pie already.

That's not true at all...he's kept more productive or useful players from having a chance....that is something....
