Do we want Carlos in the ASG?

seriously, young deserves it, lee beanball aside. i'd rather carlos not overthrow in the ASG and turn into 2006-second-half Brad Penny.

Plus it gives the Cubs more Major League attention.

I say no. Let Carlos have a few days rest and be all fresh for the second half of the season. Also, let him get the message that, if he wants to be an All-Star, he needs to start realizing that the season begins in April, not May or June. If he is on the team and in the game I'll root for him, but I'm not going to vote for him to make it.

I voted no. Like others have said...I'd prefer for him to have the rest, not jack with the rotation and stay on schedule. He's going good now so don't mess with him. And, I don't particularly feel he deserves a spot given his overall performance.

Part of me says no, to give him rest... But when he gets rest, he's too over-powering and his pitches don't sink or break down.

I think based on the results, if no, vance should spend his time voting for Young or Webb, to ensure that Carlos doesn't get in.

I am gonna vote for Webb Carlos doesn't deserve it and could use the rest. Young is a jerk and wont get my vote so that just leaves Webb but then again I will probably only just vote once since well its not like I really care if Brandon Webb gets voted into the all-star game or not.

Voting Zambrano in would be voting for his reputation, not his season. His first two months, he was the biggest black hole the starting rotation has had so far this year. Yes, he's been lights out for like 4 or 5 starts, and he's probably more talented than most pitchers who will be there, but I don't think he has earned the trip this year and I do not want to see him go.

 

Plus, I want all his efforts going toward the Cubs this season.

 

On the other hand, if it were a given that the Cubs will be in the World Series this year, then I'd say yes, do everything we can to get the Cubs HFA. But Cubs making the World Series is like Wood and Prior both getting off the DL.
