I also love how we are willing to accept crap offense from our Catcher and Shortstop for the sake of defense, but we can't do the same in center field.

I like Pie as much as the next guy...however...if we continue to streak w/him on the bench...I'll live with it...as long as he's keeping his buddy Fonzie company, the Cubs are winning, and he's a defensive replacement/pinch runner...I can live with that...its not optimal...but I just want to win right now.

im tired of watchin pagan misplay balls hit to center...he can't really judge them very well...and he doesnt give you enough wit the bat to jusitfy not playing pie....his defense (especially in spacious RFK) is more valuable than pagan's bat

From all his quotes, I truly think Lou believes that he is doing the best thing for Pie long-term. If what he is doing right is very questionable, but I think his intent is good.

he's ok in the corner outfield, but he cant judge a ball hit right at him in center.....he just takes bad routes on those balls that pie could catch
