You know what sucks about this series? I got tickets to Sunday's game. Sunday. With Marquis. That is pretty much a guaranteed blowout.

I'm more worried about tomorrow than Sunday. Marquis will probably give up 3-4 to their offense, but I think the offense has a good chance to do that to Bush as well. I'm not sure what they are going to do against Sheets-he has allowed only 6 runs in his last 5 outings combined.

I'll probably end up watching this via MLB.TV since I'll have the Federer-Safin match on tv.

GO CUBS!!

I'll clue you in on the tennis match, Federer is going to win.

Might as well watch this huge series and skip Federer coasting to another Wimbeldon title.

The Cubs beat Sheets earlier in the year, scoring 5 ER, when he was coming off of a complete game 2 hitter (1 R). We'll see what happens tomorrow but I am encouraged by the Cubs hitting of late.

True, but that was basically a bad inning for Sheets and then he locked it down. Granted, sometimes you just need that one bad inning, but it's not like the Cubs were hitting him all game.

well, Damn it to hell. I'll be at work so I have to rely on gameday.

Speaking of which, which is better? MLB.com, ESPN.com, or CBSSports.com version of gameday? (i forget their actual names for their versions)

In the past, they have all been equally as slow and unreliable. Is this still true or is there one that is better than the rest?

I hate ESPN's, I usually use MLB's. never tried CBS's

I've always used espn.com's gamecast, although they have some lag periods. Usually pretty well up to real time.

Yeah, I usually use MLB. ESPN has a way of crashing my computer at work, but I figured I'd give it a shot if their game cast thing is any better than MLB's.

Thanks! Long time fan, often reader, first time poster. I should be around for a good time.

I hope you're prepared. This site is known for knowledgeable, rational, level headed fans that stray away from knee-jerk reactions....but yeah...all that goes right to hell in game threads. Especially during a big series like this :-)

Or when we win...(or lose) more than one game in a row.... :D

So, are you trying to say that we're NOT the favorites to win the world series right now?

Blasphemy.

I think the Cubs hitters had something to do with the inning...

EDIT: I just took a look at that game and Sheets never really had the opportunity to coast. The Cubs had 12 hits (9 against Sheets). He also gave up 5 runs in 6 innings. They scored 2 runs in the 2nd and 3 runs in the 6th.

Plus, they had at least one hit in 4 of the 6 innings.

I just heard that Fontenot is at SS, DeRosa's at 2B,

Floyd's in RF and Bowen C.

My lineup guess

Soriano, LF

Fontenot, SS

Lee, 1B

Ramirez, 3B

Floyd, RF

DeRosa, 2B

Bowen, C

Pie, CF

Hill

I really really really hope Pie is not hitting 8th. Hit him 7th at least, but I might even go 6th with Dero "protecting him".

Lou's trying to get in the Lefts for Gallardo. Just lookin at some stats- Hitters have been smokin the first pitch against him, batting .333. Good news for Soriano and the likes.

I think that's the best lineup we can throw out there with our current roster.
