yeah, if it was just some random poster who nobody really knows, I would have more serious doubts, but Reds44 atleast has some history here.

 

 

 

Also, if this does turn out to be true, this is the second time this month NSBB has scooped a roster move before the press release.

Here is the thing--this is not on any of the other more "silly" cubs message boards, and if someone were out just o have some fun, I think he would go to many of these boards before NSBB. I guess only time will tell, but I am buying it.

 

I just really hope we dont have to pay too much of his remaining salary

I think we've paid for most of it. No other way we could move him IMO.

Waiting to see (if true) the overzealous celebration that will accompany this announcement around here. I'll be more excited when a move is made that improves this team and helps them win more ballgames. Im not saying I'll be sad to see Jacque go, but he has hardly played the last two weeks anyway so what difference does it really make?

I think you will be dissapointed.

 

In order for the Cubs not to pay a major portion of his salary, Hendry will have to weave a lot of magic. Something I don't think he's capable of doing.

Depends on the kid I would think. It may be a guy to make Bud sign off on all the cash going out of town with Jones.

My guess is the Cubs picked up this year's salary and half of next years, and this single A pitcher will be a decent prospect-not somebody who has no chance at the majors, but not anyone who is a top prospect or anything. Those are all just guesses however.

It's being reported in Miami now, btw.

 

It's not yet on the Marlins official message board, or the espn version. Although I don't think many people use either.
